Leadership and the conch

All the boys in the island voted to select a chief, who is Ralph, Ralph decided to explore the “island” to know if they are really in an island so he chose Jack and Simon. After this they decided to make  fire so if a ship appeared the people in it can see the smoke and save them.

The conch that Ralph and Piggy found before Ralph was chose to be the chief is an important instrument, the person that hold it is allow to talk and if you didn’t have it yo can´t talk. Also if someone heard the conch he should go to the beach.

When Ralph made the conch sounds a lot of boys appeared from the forest, all were wearing uniforms or naked. This meant  that there were boys from different places and schools. Also you can know if the boys are from the upper or Lower class by the uniforms they wear.

The conch can start a fight because someone wants to speak but the one that has it don´t want to give to it to him. This could cause problems between Ralph (the chief) and Jack (the leader of the Hunters).
